wow thats quite a jump. how much power do you think my setup should make? I havent rode it yet, im refreshing the top end. The po let it sit in a shed for two years with the carbs off, so the pistons were slightly siezed, and thanks for the info

I would guess a 25 to 30 hp jump from a base of 90hp.....somewhere aroun 120 total.
turbos start at about 140hp
Mr. Turbo web info
Power Gains:
Boost / Small CC (900-1000) / Big CC (1200-1400)
10lbs / 140 hp / 170 hp
20lbs / 200 hp / 230 hp
30lbs / 280 hp / 310 hp

ya I was 14/37 it was way to much.....bike worked way to hard. Went down to 15/35 and like it much better. Im running a 18" not a 16" rear so a 15/33 would work also....will try and see if it works.
Goto Gearingcommander.com and mess arount with it....will learn alot.

i have the same setup your pushing 125ish depending on carbs etc. a buddy owns a dyno bwahahahaha and mines a lil tired so youll love it. just wasnt enough for me as i got out of rockets and fell for my kz. it smokes alot of bikes with my little arse on it. as long as you can ride your golden. plus the weight and ergonomics make it great on the highway.

29 Nov 2012 12:33Thats a pretty optimistic hp jump for a set of pistons!4TheKZ1000 wrote:cjcrug wrote: wow thats quite a jump. how much power do you think my setup should make? 30lbs / 280 hp / 310 hp

If youre not having the head ported/polished or installing a healthy set of cams and carbs Id say a 5-10hp gain over what the bike had previously when it was running right if all other parts remain the same is a more realistic number

A piston kit by itself wont get you the numbers without the rest of the supporting cast to feed it,ported head/cams/decent carbs.......
The most realistic number Ive seen on a smaller motor was omrs 1st build with the stock bore 1015 wisecos /Larry Cav head/.365 cams and 29 cr's made 95hp.
My ltd made 126hp with a tired 1197 kit/.435 cams in a mediocer head with a set of 38 flatslides,in its defense it had a really soft back tire that was coming apart like a rubber grenade during the dyno runs! :woohoo:
I never dynoed it after rebuilding the motor with the new bottem end /1327 kit with the turbo pistons/decent head ported by me with .380ish cams and that little ol Garret hair dryer force feeding it,but let me just say when that boost gauge started bouncing between 10-15lbs going down the road Id lose all interest in watching it because I was way to busy seeing my life pass before my eyes!     :woohoo:
When I swapped the topend for build a carbed version of the 1327 with another set of pistons /a big valve j-head I ported .435 cams /and the old 38 flatslides Id say it realistically made 150-160hp at rear wheel on pump gas with some home made octane booster
