There is nothing you can do, other than returning it to 738cc. It is an air cooled engine. The more power it produces, the more heat it generates. Oil coolers are to prevent oil from boiling, not to cool engines, it is s not their functions. Nevertherless add one, it will remove heat picked up at the clutch which is cooled by the oil.

Not true, if an oil cooler lowers the oil temp it is lowering the overall engine temp too. Early Suzuki GSXR's are oil cooled, its not as effective as a well designed liquid cooling system, but it does work.

oil coolers will definitely remove heat from the oil, thus allow the oil to remove more heat from the engine. look at the post from OMR.
i think the ideal oil temp is 180*f. as stated above, oil will brake down at 240*.
u can get a good cooler from Earls.

i would also recomend a thermostat. when your eng is run in cooler weather, the oil will not get hot enough with a cooler, to burn off condensation. this will cause a grey sludge build up in your pan.

"Air cooled" engines should actually be called "Air+Oil cooled".

The discrepancy between the temp sensor and two different IR Temp guns, has been anywhere between 10-30 degrees f. With the Vapor always being higher. I have reset it per instructions by Trail Tech.
I haven't seen anyone quote cylinder head temp ranges yet.
I could be wrong. Just trying to get him the answers he's looking for.

350-400 is what we measured on a 750 twin and a 83 GPz750 after a brisk highway run.

...Depends on wether its 2, or 4 stroke. Some are just air cooled.

Hey thanks for all the info., all good information, I feel a lot better about it now. Gonna get the oil cooler system and temp unit for that.
Thanks again.

I can't say for 2 strokers vs 4 strokes vs 810 vs 900/1000 but I can say it surprised the hell out of me of the temp differences Pre & Post measurements especially on the oil temp & exhaust ports.
Not so much on the actual values themselves for say but in the temp differences. Shit 30-40 degrees cooler in the oil temp measurement & 30-40% cooler on the exhaust temps!
