While looking at z1enterprise site noticed there is a o-ring for the kz1000 on the cylinder head.

Where does this go?

the only "O" rings that I know of that goes on the J head are the 4 that goes between the block and head on the outer studs to seal the oil passages and the one oblong one that goes between the head and the block that seals the cam chain gally.

I hope this helps

On my model it shows an O-ring between the cylinder base gasket and the cylinder head. But the part number is... 92055-054(size-"O" RING,73MM) (I think that is what Craigpuckett was saying)
Here's the link to Kawasaki

there is an o ring around the cam chain galley...it can be avoided by using a one piece head gasket from any of the numerous online sites....also there are four large o rings that go around the cylinder sleeves...only o rings i know about..

The part number refers to an itty bitty o-ring that goes on the knock-pins of later model (J) jugs.

My concern was that I did not see that o-ring when I removed my head on my kz1000k ltd.

On the kaw site it didnt not show the oring for my model.

thanks

Look under cylinder/pistons on the exploded diagrams...the part is figured.:) It may go on the outer studs, I don't know, but four are required.

I just rebuilt the top end of my 1981 J model. Four O-rings are required for the outer oil galleys between the head and cylinders. They are easy to miss as the stick to one or the other on removal. Don't buy them through Kawasaki! ($7.92 each!) I found a connection in Seattle that sent me a sample pack of viton orings and I am using them. The viton material is more resistant to heat. After 200 miles I still have no leaks. When I get home today I will post the dimensions. I will order a pack later (about $6.00 for 50!).

After 25 years the o-rings are wasted and not in the Vesrah gasket kit.
