Exhaust manifold repair?

Got home from a trip and notice and exhaust leak from the exhaust manifold. Pulled the exhaust off and the exhaust flange wore a grove into the exhaust manifold. What are my options for fixing this? Can I it filled with weld and file it down? I also need to buy new exhaust inserts(not sure it thats the correct name) They are the removal inserts that go into the exhaust pipe. Can I get them from Z1?

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationPlease add your bike info to your signature line, it helps others to give you correct info.

Your 79 KZ750 is what I'm assuming, the gaskets are available from Z1E.

The broke out section could be welded by a good welder that is good with aluminum. Might be about the same cost though as to do a head replacement from a parted out bike.

Yeah, it's a 79. I updated my profile. the insert Im looking for is a two pieced kind of a flange. I'll check z1 for it. Thanks for help. i know a few professional welders so think were gonna go that route. I just wanted to know if if was do able.

If you know welder then just have it welded, he can do it in the frame. He can weld it up against a new flange as the aluminum won't stick to the steel. My fix was different but it's working fine.

as long as the gasket seals against the head surface i think you could just clean up the area and reinstall your exhuast with new gaskets and split collars.
id check out the carbs/tuning while youre at it though to find what caused the problem B)
