Rob,
I think that you have a system from a 96 to 99 ZX750- Ninja. There were several different models/ versions but I am pretty sure that pipe came from one of them. Check out this link

Glad to be of help. As to the connection at the head, I do not think they use the split collars, rather just a gasket, washers and nuts to hold them via the attached flanges. I think the issue is do the holes on the flanges match up with the stud locations on the 650 as I am pretty sure the pipes are spaced correctly to fit just not sure about the stud locations.

Niether of my bikes are at home, so I can't test fit it.
But I understand what you mean about the ZX engine tilted forward.
Bruce, I was worried about the stud locations as well.
The 1&4 pipe flanges look to have the stud holes at 3&9 O'clock, which I'm sure the 650s don't have.
I should ask the guy I got it off of if he tried to fit it to his 650....
