The #120 main jet doesn't seem to far out of line to me.
Note- Is your camera format is set to large, for uploading to this site. The pictures can't be larger then 1200x1200. That's one of the biggest problems, most people have. Just asking!
kzz1p the carbs are 29mm Keihen, with 120 main jets, and 62 pilot jets, clip position 4. Here are some pics of the plugs and oil in the sight glass.

"kzz1p the carbs are 29mm Keihen, with 120 main jets, and 62 pilot jets, clip position 4. Here are some pics of the plugs and oil in the sight glass."...
As depicted and verified in the image, CR's from Sudco come setup as followed.... On The RICH side...
Phoenix AZ Elevation ~ 1400 feet...
Obviously Hot & Dry weather most of the year....
I dropped two down on the main (115) & slow jets (52).
I changed to a YY9 Needle in clip position 3...
NOTE: Due to heat index and my build, I most likely could have dropped one more on the main and slow jet but I'd rather be slightly rich then lean out here in AZ....
Slow jet screws out 13/4 to 21/4 turns pending elevation changes during ride, heat index and not all individual carbs are the same....
I just don't get Tanned plugs here, just not going to happen.... I do obtain a 360 degree base circle coat, 50/50 ground band strap condition with a light to dark gray on the porcelain...
Pending your elevations and heat indexes....
# 62 on the slow jet is ~ 2-3 sizes too rich...
# 120 on the Mains is 1-2 sizes rich...
assuming you have the stock YY8 needle...
Clip 4 position is leaning them out so you can try another position (5) but this is mostly at mid range (rpm) operations....
Test such as 6500rpm and hold...
Does she surge back and forth as fuel starvation, missing erratic exhaust sound then too lean....
6500 rpm, just let the throttle snap back... exhaust popping? If so then too lean...
If your plugs depict fairly heavy carbon build up then too rich on the slow jet and Mains....

I personally think the jetting is a bit on the fat side.
Nice cam choice IMO.
Without seeing it run in person, it's hard to nail anything down. I would drop down at least 2 sizes on the pilots and main jets and 1 clip position leaner on the needle. Then take it for a good ride and put some miles on it.
Don't put 100% faith in your plug readings right now. The bike has sat a long time. Go put 50 miles on it after you jet it down. Tune from there.
CRS 29's are a great carb. They just come jetted way to fat.
When you have carbs off, take a flashlight and peek into the intake ports. See if the back side of the intake valves have heavy deposits.

Yea that looks scary, wouldn't want that in any engine. Do you have small kids? Drain and change that ASAP if you haven't.

Hey all, Appreciate all the info. Larry, your absolutely right about "ignoring the plugs" since the bike sat for so long. Basically, you all convinced me that there was nothing wrong with the cam timing. I played this in my head a million times, but your opinions also helped, So, I started the bike, used what ever method was needed to keep it running, ie, choke, thottle, and after about 2 minutes of bitch'in and snort'in nasty-ness she cleaned up. A little carb tunning, and it idles nicely around 1000 right now. Tomorrow will take it for a little ride and see how that goes. I really appreciate the info about the Sudco carbs being built rich. I'll be looking for this as I get more miles on the bike. Right now, just ride and tune. Once I feel I have as good as possible, I'll replace the plugs and watch them every time I run. Damn, I'm excited !!! :woohoo:
