Stripped M6x1 "head bolt" by #1 plug
06 Jul 2009 11:49
The M6x1 "head bolt" by the side of #1 spark plug has finally stripper the aluminium thread out of the block. The one the other side, next to #4 plug is ok right now.
I'm thinking of tapping this out to M7x1 or even perhaps M8x1 (8x1 too big?).
Any thoughts experiences please? Thanks.

Time-Sert...very quick, very easy...moderately priced.

Yup, I helicoiled all my cam cap bolts a couple of years ago and it worked very well.
I actually tapped this one out this evening to M7x1 and it seems to have turned out well.
Thanks.
