Piston rings for KZ750 ?

Where can I find piston rings for KZ750 ?
Or maybe somebody from this forum sells a set he don't need ?

Same question as Biquetoast, but since KZ750(4)'s are more common in Europe than twins, I'll assume you have a 'four'. Unfortunately, it does not appear that ring sets are available as an aftermarket item. They are also rarely offered on eBay as OEM NOS. On the positive side, they are still available from Kawasaki for about US$31.00 a piston.

$120 from kawasaki is way too much for me, but if i can't find other way...maybe finally I have to buy rings from them...

Howdy scorpio... First, you can't buy from Kawasaki direct over the Internet. You can buy from a Kawasaki dealer or you can buy from an Internet retailer who sells Kawasaki parts. There are several. www.bikebandit.com and www.mrcycles.com come to mind. Also keep in mind that you had best know what year bike you own as the rings for an 81 carry a different part number than an 82/83; that is, the E1 is a different part than the E2 or E3. I am not sure where folks get the prices but if you can find the rings for just over $30 a set you had best jump on them because bikebandit.com was over $50 a set for the earlier rings and mrcycles.com was just over $40 a set. I am not sure what the payment policies are for these places nor I am not sure if they ship overseas. You will have to go check their websites, I guess. You could also try www.z1enterprises.com - I KNOW that they don't have the rings listed on their site but they CAN get any part any of the big online parts sellers can and they ship overseas... not sure about your country but the one thing you will get with them is the RIGHT PART. They will likely actually ask for your frame number and look the correct part up on their parts fiche where the other folks will just sell you the part you order... if the wrong part gets shipped, I suspect that returning the part will cost a bunch in shipping. Also, US postal rates have gotten REAL expensive last few months... Add that to the cost of the rings. You can check the rates somewhat by guessing ship weight and checking the www.usps.com website.

According to kawasaki.com, all the KZ750E models have the same rings, the 83 GPz750 has different part numbers because the rings are thinner. I need some .020" oversized rings for a GPz750, so I ought to order some before the price increases, and see if they are actually available.

Those are .020" (.5 mm) oversize rings, so unless he has .020" (0.5 mm) oversized pistons it won't work.

Too bad they are not for a GPz750 though

Thank you all guys for giving me those links and info. Expensive or not, I have to buy the rings...gotta see what source will be best to buy from...
cottoncandyninja, unfortunatly, as steel already said, those rings are for oversized pistons and I need the standart (66 mm) ones...

You might measure...or take specifications form the manual...for your rings.

Take this and search for rings havine the same specification rather than by the kz750-4 application.

Many motorcycles have 66mm pistons...

Duck, I took a look in the motorcylcle informational websites, checked lots of different motocycles, but I didn't find a brand and model with 66mm...can you tell me some if you know ? I have some technical skills and I have some machines (mills, lathes and so on) by my side and I was looking even for piston rings from a small car or somethnig like that...even I don't care much about how thick the rings are (I can grind them if their thickness is more then needed...or even i can make the notch for the ring in the piston wider...that wouldn't be a problem if we talk for just some tens of millimeter). And of coarse you MUST always use only parts made exactly for your bike! But when you have no other choice (during financial or whatever reasons) and when you are open for experiments - no problem to give that a try. Its not my first time doing these things and I have some experience, but I was not able to find any 66 mm rings around here...neither from car nor from a bike...so if somebody knows other brand with the same rings - tell me. Other way is also to get for example second overbore rings from a motorbike that have standart cylinders of 65.5 mm...
But don't do these things to your bikes unless you don't really know what you're doing
