Re: kz / gpz exhaust..
21 Jun 2007 09:10Here's one of a Motad System.
Neil's '81 with a MAC.(Yes, they tend to "swing low...sweet chariot...")
There's two types of exhaust systems. One for street use that will allow easy access to change oil and filter, and the other for race systems, that are more tucked under for leaning clearance, but you'll have to remove the whole system to change the oil and filter.

I have a Vance & Hines 4 into 1 chrome system in very good condition that will fit.
It is off a 78 KZ1000.
You can change the oil filter without removing anything.
$150 plus actual shipping costs
(from Jacksonville, FL 32225)

I believe there are only two types of MAC Systems. One has a chrome "can" and the other has a black "can"(muffler). These are sold on ebay.
If you can wait, I'd look for a used Vance & Hines, Kerker, or Supertrapp(all of which are no longer being produced). It's kinda this:
Slim Pickens .

I have a Hindle header that mounts by springs to stubs bolted to the head. Quite easy to remove to change oil and filter, or put it up on the lift. The Hindle pipes are race pipes, not built for style or sound. If you're building a racer, a Hindle pipe would be worth looking into.

Do you actually drag exhaust first when heeled that far over. That is impressive.
Me, I really need to get the front suspension worked, my springs are still shot, but I have rode within reasonable limits with some hot shoes on serious curvies, and haven't even ground pegs yet.

guys i just picked up a old kerker exhaust of a kz700 or 750 and while the header bolts right up to the head, the collector exits right in front of the shock linkage!!! (monoshock)...
so i cant use this.. any other bright ideas?
