U couldn't find her right place to ask a tire question. I have a 1978 kz1000 and I was told I need bead locks?
1 is this true
2 any ideas where online to find them?

bead locks = rubber parts bolt on the rim that lock down the tire on the rim on high acceleration. They should protect the air tube valve sheard off by rotating the tire on the rim. I am right ? If so no Need on a modern tyre any more.

Number 32 on the parts diagram. Fits several models.

The stock wheels are probably tube-type (not tubeless), so you probably need to install tubes.
Whether or not a modern tire can't spin on a TT wheel & shear off the tube's valve stem under heavy throttle, I don't know.

I took mine out years ago. Have to use a C clamp to break the beads on my Shinko tires.
