Lord Knows....79 LTD

Lord knows I cant stand the styling of LTD's, esp the hunchback of Notre Dame seat. Is there a flat seat for sale that will just pop right on this thing?

My friends Dad is selling me a KZ1000 which looks just like this, ugly seat and all:

1977 Kawasaki KZ650B
1977 Kawasaki KZ750 Twin

Seat can be swapped out with a non LTD seat . Off ebay / Z1 Ent / Corbin / others
Look up some of Les Holts LTD builds without LTD seats
Dave
PS I like LTDs . Just not the stock seats

I just read they get up to 160MPH. Is this accurate or a joke?

I hope I am if that is what you want the bike to be able to do.
160 MPH is really hauling the mail.
Ask Ralph Pitlock how fast he went at the Bonneville Salt Flats with his Z1R T/C He is member Paintworkz here on KZR Past Bike of the Month

I once had my mildly hot rodded 1977 KZ1000a up to a “scare the F’n Hell out of me” speed of just over 140mph... on my factory speedometer.
I’d guess that was really somewhere around +125mph, maybe 130mph.
I’m really doubtful that there is any late 70’s KZ1000 out there that will hit a true 160mph.

Looked it up here on KZR
Ralph went 147 MPH at the Ohio Mile running 7 1/2 pounds of boost with stock pistons. Riding his stock Z1R T/C
I run over 3 times that much boost when racing plus Nitrous with MTC Turbo pistons and a lot of other work done to make the motor live and hold the bike together.
Like I thought Mine Will , Yours wont
