I found a 99 nomad.Good sape,low miles.Is that the year they had a plastic gear on the oil pump and it caused engine failure?
Proud owner of 1982 650csr again soon. keeping it this time

I believe it was in 2000 that they stopped using the plastic gear.

That's a POG (plastic oil gear). There is a fix without splitting cases for a couple hundred bucks.
