KZ400 What's it worth ??

I'm going to look at this tomorrow, and am wondering what everyone thinks it's worth. It has right at 2,000 miles on it. No keys, and no title. It costs $100 here in Iowa to get a bonded title, so that's not an issue.

It's been setting in a storage unit for many years. The engine is free.

What do you think ??

The sissy bar backrest is uglier then a bucket full of smashed assholes, but it would be worth $200-$300 here with the probability of
getting it titled and a license.

Looks like a decent bike, tank and paint look good. I wouldn't go more than a $1 per cc for a non-running bike unless it was something special and a 1975? KZ400 isn't rare or unique. Without keys and title it should be worth half that here. But it looks to be in pretty good shape and if it is easy to get a title in Iowa then it would be worth more there than here.

Looks good. You might be able to sell that to the vintage Honda guys. No business on a Kaw.

I looked at the bike, and it is in pretty good shape. The guy was dead set on getting $500 out of it though, so I walked away from it.

I agree with diggerdanh, $1 per cc is pretty much the high side to pay for a bike like this.

I still enjoy seeing the older bikes in this condition with such few miles on them.

That is fine but $500 for a 70's KZ400 with no keys and no title... the guy is F'n crazy!! You would be too to pay that, IMHO.
