The newest addition to the family...
07 Apr 2015 08:16
Well as many of you know. I sold off all of my kz parts and my drag bike. Well two weeks ago, I went out and bought a new 2014 ZX14R. All I can say is wow. This bike is amazing. Its a freaking beast. Its got more power than my old fully built kz ever had, with push button starting lol, no more kick starting for me. Its amazing how far techonolgy has came with this bike. It rides so smooth and handles extremely well. So far I've put 800 miles on it. It had .5 miles on it when I brought her home. I've already ditched the rear fender and installed a fender elimenator kit. But other than that its all stock for now. But I'm planning on some slip on exhausts to get rid of the big ugly stock ones. And also wanna get the ecu reflashed. Here is a couple of pics of it. What you guys think???

I test drove one before I decided to start to restore my KZ.. They are insanely fast. Decided to stay with my classic and slower bike.
The more u drive it the more comfortable u will get and faster u will want to go .
Awesome bike

Ya its really fast. I miss the old kz already but, I wanted reliability because I want to go on a lot of cross state rides and wherever I decide I wanna go without any problems.

Yep! Them exhausts are ugly. Slip ons will fix that though.
Very nice bike!
Is the riding position forward or more upright?
Did you consider the Concours 14?
Congratulations!
Bill

The riding position is more upright. I didn't really want one that was more forward. I plan on getting some slipons sometime this summer, if the budget allows lol. But I didn't really look into the concours 14. This bike was a left over 14, they had the price marked way down. So I ended up with it.

I like it, but like the rear fender intact and the mufflers kept stock. I saw one, I think it was called the 30th anniversary edition, that looked like the 84 GPZ900 at a dealer a couple weeks ago, and it looked really great.
I see 400 sport bikes a day, and all 400 have the rear fender removed in some fashion. All 400 look like part of the bike is missing to me, as it is. Look better with fenders. I guess I grew up with fenders.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I always remove my fenderrs. That was one of the first things to go on all my kzs as well. But to each there own. I'm really enjoying it. Now if the rain would let up so I could ride, that would be great lol.
