So.... Who's buying the new H2?
06 Nov 2014 12:57 - 06 Nov 2014 17:50
Just got the e-mail from Kawasaki today. They are now taking deposits of $5,000.
$27,500 is Canadian retail.
I might just pull the trigger on one.
Another local buddy of mine is thinking the same thing!

Not me, although I would if I was loaded and didn't need to justify the cost. Also probably too much of a handful for road use. ..Trying to use rational thought processes to justify buying such a crazy bike is nonsense though, this is a highly irrational bike.
As I said in another thread, it seems like a low production competition beater primarily to keep the kawasaki brand at the forefront of the insanely fast 'specialist' headbanger's bikes.
Sometimes one sees a new bike and just know it will be a future classic, last time I thought that was an RG500 Gamma - and also my z1000R lawson rep which I bought over 10 years ago when they were not quite as 'collectable'.
That H2 could be the ultimate kawasaki, although modern sport bike power/weight ratios only goes in one direction, future environmental and safety legislation could be the limiting factor. Maybe that is what makes the RG500 so valuable: the ultimate, low production numbers and something that could never be built again.

Before I buy one, I need to see it stripped down, with a fiberglass cafe seat/tail, and maybe some clubmans.

I have a 1974 H2 I've owned for 36yrs and must say the new H2 looks slightly improved in design, but I'll keep my 74 for a while yet.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Roll forward 20 years - they are likely to be one of the few bike from the current generation to have appreciated in value.

Too rich for my blood. Also at 58, I don't have that much need for speed anymore. And on the rare occasion I do, I have a KZ650 frame with a 750Gpz engine to fill that void. After that project get finished that is...
I don't have a plan and I'm sticken' to it! '77 KZ 650 / 750 GPz custom project in progress
