Who is going to the Relay Rally in South Fork CO?

Can we get a head count of who is going to make the trek to the Rally in South Fork please.
2 of us are riding from Bend Oregon to South Fork.
Who else Is going? I know there are a few who had plans of making it, but sounds like they won't now.

Yes Daryl, Who is going? I know there will be at least 6 to 8 KZ Riders. I was just out there 3 weeks ago doing recon riding. I can tell you this: It is BIG COUNTRY, great scenery, with silky smooth grippy tarmac. I have planned some great destinations nearby to South Fork such as visiting the 1,000+ year old Anasazi dwellings, Million Dollar Highway, Four Corners, and much more you have to experience to truly appreciate. This is going to be great. :woohoo:

I'm going but I won't be doing it in one day. I will be stopping in Utah to visit my parents for a few days then riding to South Fork on the 7th.
BTW I will be picking up the relay flag from Eddy this Saturday.

BTW, Where will you be coming from in Utah? Just wondering if a meet up with you on your way to South Fork would work. Maybe meet in Durango or Four Corners to put The Relay nail in the lower 48 States. This depends of course where you will be coming from in Utah. You got my contact info.

That looks to be at least 435 miles to South Fork. That itself could be a full day of riding on Thursday, 8/17. Once you arrive in South Fork We may want to plan a Friday ride out to Four Corners to capture AZ & NM for the Relay Flag. Or, if you are ambitious we could meet you in Cortez, CO and then ride together to Four Corners. That would bring your total by the time you reach South Fork to 515 miles. BTW, I went through Salina, UT just north of Richfield on June 30th during my return leg of a 5,000 mile round trip ride on my C-14! I took U.S. 50 to I-70. I really enjoyed my ride on I-70, not like your usual super slab here in the midwest. Beeutiful scenery.

So you'll aim to arrive in south fork on the 7th or 8th?
I've got to be back at work the following monday the 10th, so I'll have to peel back starting friday the 8th. I may not see some of you that arrive after friday.

That sounds good Forrest but I have a date change I will be there on wednesday 6th not the 7th.

Daryl, this will make a meet up on the road to Four Corners that much more important. See my previous post in response to Baldy's notice of arrival. I would love to have as many of us participate in the ceremonious Flag Relay at Four Corners. It will be great to knock off the last of the lower 48 states in this manner. I say we aim for my suggestion of meeting in Cortez on Thursday August 7th. We then have a short ride to Four Corners and can enjoy a late afternoon early evening ride back to South Fork together. We can then celebrate, enjoy some fellowship that evening. We will make Thursday night a celebration. We then can send you and your friend off in proper KZ Rider Style! We should all be together by then. Goodfastncheap & Upncummr may arrive from the Omaha area on Thursday as well. I spoke with Goodfastncheap. They are 50/50 at this point and if attending will be likely arriving on Thursday p.m. They can meet up with us at The Ute Bluff Lodge once we come back from Four Corners. We will make this all work. My cell is 630-391-1787 if I can be of help in a more direct form of contact.

This can work just as well if not better. We can follow my suggestion and meet you on Wednesday instead of Thursday in Cortez. This give you and Daryl an extra day to bond as KZ Moto Bruddas! I am flexible but a trip to Four Corners would be a great capstone to The Relay and our Rally. AND, there are many other great roads in the area so this is nothing but good news!

This will work, see you at Cortez on Wed, the 6th.

Man, this seems like the ride of the year, but I gotta pay for my toys & hobbies somehow!

Ride safe and take lots of pictures for us who will be chained to the millstone for the balance of the summer.
