Found a 81 KZ 650 (carbs interchange 550 gpz?)

I found a complete 81 KZ 560 with no title for $200. Guy says it used to run. The 84 GPZ 550 I picked up has trashed carbs. Would the 81 650s carbs bolt on my 84 GPZ550? Also, will anything off the 650 work on my 78 KZ1000? My GPZ carbs are TK I think.

Only the 550 carbs will fit on a 550 because they are spaced closer together than the KZ650 or KZ1000. As to what parts will interchange on the KZ650 to the KZ1000, since the KZ650 is a 1981 and the KZ1000 is a 1978, not much is the same except basic bolts/nuts and other generic items.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

The 550 is a small bike. The 1000 is a Big bike. and the 650 is in between. Not much interchanges between them. In general a 70s model is different from anything after 80/81 (depending upon the bike). Unfortunately, the parts interchange between models isn't always what you'd expect.
An 81 650 doesn't have much in common w the earlier 650s, other than the engine & even that's different as the 81 has a HyVo cam chain & electronic ignition. It's more akin to the 750-4s.

Well, it ended up being a 1980 KZ 550 with a title. I gave $200 and he delivered it. It has not ran in 10 years. I'll mess with it this spring.

I messed with this bike today. I noticed that someone cut off the ignition switch plug. I had an old harness and spliced it on. I cleaned the starter relay terminals and hooked up a battery. It is not getting power to the start button. Guess I'll have to do some research. It did have a K&N stock style filter in the air box. I'll be putting it on my GPZ550
