Maybe I'm getting old, but I live in a rural area, and it bugs my wife and me when a buzzbomb with open pipes flys by while we are enjoying our Sundowners!
We can hear them coming and going for miles  and I can't see how that saves lives.....just my two cents worth...... :S

I live near Portland, Oregon and my rider is a '76 KZ900 I bought new. I'm also in the process of restoring another one and a '73 Z1.

Maybe you kids need to get married and have a child with double ear infections finally get your kid to sleep when an arse who just likes to be loud rides by with open headers just because they like it. Or after a double shift at the pickle factory and you can finally get some sleep. Or have your pregnant wife ...if you're not stupid you get the drift. My uncle used to say if it's your right to shove noise up my arse it's my right to bean you with a ice cube and a wrist rocket slingshot. Not sure I'd go that far but have been tempted. Better to make the noise law and enforce it. You don't have to be loud to go fast and no... it does not save lives. The noise is in back of you. That's why they face horns forward. All in all I do feel pretty lucky because around here they are enforcing noise laws and it gets pretty expensive pretty quick to be an arse just because you like it. That "crowd" is shrinking around here.
Take it from me cuz I found
If you leave it then somebody else is bound,
To find that treasure, that moment of pleasure,
When yours, it could have been.

I've had a Kerker on my 650 since the '80s and love it.
A little too quite after having an open Yosh pipe, but have kept the baffle in the Kerker all these years.
