KZ keys

So I have 2 keys for Oscar. 1 key works ignition switch. 1 key works gas tank. Keyhole for seat has been modified with a screwdriver by PO. Did the KZ's have 1 key that fit entire bike ? If so how do I go about correcting the issues and getting 1 key to fit the entire bike ?

I would take the working ignition key, and take it, and the other locks to a locksmith, and have him re-key the locks to match the ignition key - my local locksmith charged me $20.00 the last time I did that.
My wife asked me if I still loved her - I said "Honey, I love you more than new carburetor boots ! "

When i brought my bike to the dealer for a rekey it was a lot more expensive than the locksmith but they should be able to do it.

Personally, I would take it to a locksmith. It is his profession and what he does for a living. Chances are, that is exactly what the dealer does as well. They probably have a locksmith on contract to do the work for them, as I can't see them employing a locksmith on a permanent basis.

ANY key should unlock the gas cap. Try the ignition key in it. The 1978 KZ1000 uses the same cap as the KZ650-C1. Those caps have no tumblers, so anything that fits in the hole will turn the cyliner that pulls back the latch. Ed

Here are the lock internals; notice the cylinder has no tumblers - it's just a slot:

Ditto what 650ED said. I took my seat lock on my ELR apart and re set it to my ignition key. It was really simple. Hope this helps

Agree, take the lock you want to change apart, and see if you can rearrange the tumblers to match your key, or leave one or two out if needed.
You will probably need a new seat lock for the one that was forced with a screwdriver.

If you need a key, it can be cut by the code stamped into the lock.
