The GPz style tank was sold on the KZ1000J1/2/3 models in Europe and Australia...North America (including Canada) got the smaller style J tank for the 1981/2 J1/2 and the GPz style tank (as you show) was on the Canadian KZ1000J3 model (but the model was not sold in the US). So, If the frame has the correct North American VIN for the US models 1981/2 then the tank has been replaced with a GPz tank. The instrument pod may be replaced or it may suggest a Canadian/Euro J3 model. The frame VIN will tell all.

If it is a J3 model...acquire it...it is rare.
