He may have an inflated opinion on the value of the motorcycle. At US$2000, the motorcycle is at the upper range of KZ750-L3 value, although a concours quality bike might draw about US$3000 or so. It may be that the current owner sees this bike as a rare model, and it is, but only because Kawasaki was transitioning to V-twins, monoshocks, etc in the early/mid 1980's. I suspect the current owner won't move the bike at the value he thinks the motorcycle is worth. Personally, I have always liked the graphics of the black 1983/1984 KZ700/750 models.

IF that bike is as nice in person as in the pic, and if it runs right, I believe it will bring more than $2k. I would think $2500 might win it if the owner wants it gone; otherwise he may hold out for more and eventually get it. It does look good in the pic.

I agree with Ed. Being the original owner is worth extra to me, if it has been well cared for.
These bikes are worth what someone will pay, and that varies hugely. If he advertises where the overseas buyers can see it he will get a bunch, most likely.
At 17K miles, that's like 600 a year, or 11 a week average. Looks like he spent more time polishing then riding.

what they said.
If I was the original owner, there's no way in he!! I'd give it to you for 2k either  . Being the original owner and keeping it in that condition makes it worth a good penny more than a bike that was tossed around all it's life. Nice find.

Nice bike. I love these bikes. Unfortunately the owners have an inflated value of these bikes. They are rare, but it all comes down to how much you want to pay. There's a kz700 up here in maine on craigslist for 2250. I paid 18 for my KZ, just cause I wouldn't settle for anything else. I love the style. This bike with the original owner and the shape it's in, I would feel good offering 2500, maybe more if it's like immaculate. But then again, I freaking love this style bike.
