Yes, you got that right...the Z1R is far more desirable now than when they were first introduced.

Hahaha, now that's a funny thread right there.
...get it running and possibly get a grand for it...
I've never seen anyone put spokes on a Z1-R before..
someone needs their sac mashed for letting that bike sit out like that

+1
When one leaves a bike to sit out like that, the bike will henceforth be known as a Sac Masher. The owner will be the Mashee.
Unfortunately, I know several Mashees that need that done. Sucks seeing a KZ rusted into a solid hunk of nothing.

Old prostock Z1R bikes like Sid Pogue ran always had spoke wheels. no one would run mags on a Prostock. This might be Sid's old bike. Well no, I doubt it's originally even a Z1R if vin numbers were revealed, but regardless the Z1R is one cooll bike and always was. Yes they didn't sell well and they cut the price from like $3400 bucks to around $2500 bucks in 1978 to get rid of them. I would have bought one but that silver/ blue was just too darn ugly. 1980 in black was much better. I think the color killed the sales. Did for me. I would have bought in another color for sure.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
