Magazine article about police bike conversion

Back in the summer of 2007, I was browsing through motorcycle magazines when I saw an articly by a guy who had picked up a Kawasaki police bike on the cheap, and had converted it into a budget street bike. All I really remember is he'd put one of those Street Tracker seats from Omar's on it, and I think he painted it Kawasaki green..

Does this ring a bell with anyone?

I don't know. I'm pretty sure he was a staff writer for the magazine, though.
