This is my newest KZ addition from 2000 and also my newest KZ a 1980. Drove 2400 miles in two days to get it which was rough driving a stupid F350.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Always liked the looks of the ST and MkII
The Shaft designation - was that for 1980 or USA?

Hey Mark, never noticed this before but is that a frame slider mounted as a passenger handle?
Yes and no. yes it is a frame slider. no its not realy a handle, but i guess it wiuld work as 1. i have chrome Z1R shorty handles behind it.
I take the bike to track days, so i put them on just in case. i would hate to drop her . it took a lot of effort to get her where she is.

Looks hand made.
Well Rob, it's a "one off" piece. Not exactly hand made, but pretty close!

I bought my '76 KZ750 for $200 when I was 18. My dad had a bike and led me on to thinking I could too, then said no...I bought it anyway. First real victory of mine over the parental dictatorship. Had it now for about 4 years. Currently under construction, though it seems like it always is. Love it though and would never sell it.

Thanks Drew. your bike is pretty special in my book too. . you’ve done a real professional looking job . I hope to see it in person some day.Congrats.
i cant see Robs pics right now,i'm at work and they block most pics. i do recall talking to a couple guys at length though. 1 guy had a very nice tripple.
Rob, i obviously missed u at Haugens. i kind of went , last minuit. next summer we'll have to put some effort into hooking up again.

Re: How long have you owned you z/kz?

I have a 79 and an 80. the 80 is in the pic and my thread about 1075 kit with cams and was supposed to be my daily rider whilst I fixed the 79 up but a blown head gasket upon delivery changed the plan of action. I have put a lot of money in to it. Hopefully will be done by May. The 79 I have had since I was around 19 years old. I remember I paid 500 for it and the blue book value was like 2500 or something at the time but it was stored under a leaky garage overhang and the gas was never drained but with 5k on the od I figured it was worth it to fix up. That was like 87 I think. That bike will never be sold or the 80 either as I have way too much money in to the engine and extras. It certainly looks better than it ever did (and maybe some might say when it was new in my opinion). All the aluminum has been polished to look better than chrome and it runs like a raped ape through the concrete jungle. I think it will be even much better once it gets finished as now the bottom end has been worked over. Not planning on drag racing it but that bottom end is good to go with all the things a big block motor at the drag strip would have save the clutch basket and clutch which will be left stock for easy hassle free street riding. How about it? KZ is king!
