Motorbike Mentor in NC?
02 Nov 2011 01:20
I got an interest in old bikes, especially cafe racers and I wanna learn more about how to build, work on, etc. Try to become somewhat of an ace at 'em. Is there anyone near Raleigh, NC that would be willing to kinda mentor me? Thanks. Sam

Great idea. Working on vintage bikes is a great hobby. Even modern mechanics stay away from them.

I am not in to Cafe etc. But I have a friend who does all kinds of customizing and restore on Brits. If you are interested in, maybe I can introduce you to him. His skills and knowledges on the bikes are very good.

If you think he would be willing to have me around and show me some things, that would be great.

I'm no ace or expert, but I am in the raleigh area. So if you want to do a maintenance day or something, or set up a ride sometime, I'm down.

yeah bro, we should do it sometime. send me a direct message on here sometime and we'll go for it.
and stonemaster yeah i did look into it full time, but the hours were grueling especially for living an hour away. plus i figured they are mostly gonna focus on new models and leave the vintage work untouched mostly but i might be wrong. i never did think about doing it part time though. it's a good idea
