Orginal parts have any value?
04 Oct 2011 22:04
Hey guys,
Working on my 82 J build and will have a bunch of original parts when im done (wheels, suspension, brakes, etc) and was wondering if they have any value. I know they have value, but worth the effort of posting, shipping, etc? or should I just take them to the yard and see if I can trade them.
Thanks,
Jack

Some of the J parts that were used for only 2-3 years (mostly body parts) are worth more than you might think. Especially stuff that were "pitched" back in the day. If you have a decent grab bar, that is particularly valuable to J lovers like me. If you have a sissy bar and/or back rest (not even sure if they made one for the J), let me know.

Lew,
I do have a pretty good grab rail, but I may be holding onto that. Wife is clamoring to have a back rest as well.. lol I will be going on to a big yard (where I got my J) next week. He has a couple more, and I will see how they look on those bikes.

Ebay is your only chance.
And hope "oinkjohnson" don't have those parts for sale.
He is killing the market, selling everything dirt cheap.
I can't sell nothing nowadays.

I was wondering about this as well. I have all the police parts left over from my '81 police special, even the decals. I know once sold though I'll never get them back.
