Why Would Anyone Want A Hard Tail?

I have had three in my life. One because I thought it was cool. It was a 68 Bonneville. I rode it from San Diego to Santa Barbara and back in the same day. I traded it the next day. The other two were had in debts. I see they are getting common again when I go to bike nights and such. After you hit one bump, rr track or pot hole and almost get launched off the thing you wonder why you ever bought one. Or the pain in the tail bone. Am I just getting old or does anyone actually like them?...Russ

I think those with hardtail bikes don't really ride any great distances; they just like the look of the thing sitting outside the local tavern. ;) Ed

I'm pretty sure the hard tail chassis was supposed to be coupled with a sprung seat. Remove the seat, so damping. lol

I always liked the plunger frames myself.

I have a hardtail. I originally built mine for short distance riding. I have a Vulcan 1500 I use for long distance driving. I like the looks of a hardtail so thats why I built mine.

And spending $25,000 on a Z1 just because the VIN number is low is ok?

I once had a Doctor tell me he could look at an X-Ray of a persons kidneys and tell if they rode a motorcycle. Can't say if it is true or not but that's what he told me. It does explain the popularity of kidney belts that MX riders used to wear all the time.
