owner's manual question.
14 Aug 2011 04:30
I have a 1979 KZ 650 SR and I need an Owner's Manual BADLY! I saw some on amazon.com, BUT they are from years 76'-78' Does that one year make that big of a difference? I can't seem to find my exact year anywhere! I just want to work on my bike for maintenance and I need certain specs in order to move along. Plz help. If you have a 1979 650 owner's manual I WILL PAY YOU FOR YOU TO COPY AND SEND IT TO ME!

I don't know if there is any difference between the years, but to get you started, there is a downloadable service manual here:
jarlef.no/Kawasaki/Series/Z/650/z650files.htm
There are a lot of guys on here who love their 650s, so I'm sure someone can help you out. Happy wrenching.

So the owner's manual is different from the factory service manual, right?
When I got my KZ900, it came with a book (I'll edit this post later this evening when I can confirm) that I think is the owner's manual, as well as a smaller book that fits in the tailpiece tray. I've purchased a Cylmer's manual, which as we are all aware, isn't always the most authoritative source.

FSM is Factory Shop Manual or Factory Service Manual.
I use the following FSMs quite frequently:
