Man, what a bummer about your trip. I hope you can at least take a weekender somewhere close to where you live. Like a camping trip so you can test the loading/drivability of the bike with all that gear. Once you have your front wheel sorted out of course. I have read the whole thread and would have suggested to make sure your tank was clean without debris. This issue can lurk for sometime until you go to low reserve and end up with carb issues. And the one item that should have been on top of your list: bear spray! Anyhow, much success next year.
