need help with riding tips, bad hand

Hey there, sorry for the long post been riding for 40 years. went down for the first time in half a million miles plus! Now i had hand surgery and it didnt work out. They said my thumb has no bone at the end or much of a socket left. I was told not to ride anymore as one hard jerk can rip my right thumb off. My other choice is trike my bike. I have not heard of anyone doing that.
I am not complaining, I just wanna figure out how to safely ride my 95 KZ1000p. If i tape my thumb to 1st finger, would that be safe? I would have my palm and fingers wrapped around the throttle. Switch to a backwards ATV throttle? Integrated brakes like a goldwing so i wouldnt use a hand brake? Docs and girlfriends concern is slamming on the front brake and my hand sliding forward could rip off my thumb. I have 10-20 % use of the right thumb so i can at least shake hands as I run a shop.
Thanks in advance for the help. Havent rode in 30 days since the surgery, going crazy.
Thank God I'm a lefty!!!!!!

I;ve seen people with severed hands reattached and they regained useage so I'm not sure why they couldnt fix u
I would check with a orthopedic specialist, I'm sure a brace could be fabricated to transfer the pressure away for the thumb, attached to ur forearm or something

I have a Uncle that had his thunb shot off in Vietnam and he could do a lot without his thumb.

If it were me ,I would contunie to ride. The throttle rocker shown would elimate the thumb entirely.

A trike is not a bike and doesen't handle as good. Roy

Go find yourself a good orthotics and prosthetics specialist, tell him or her what u want to do and have them fab up a splint or brace for u.They can and do work miracles every day for people that have lost physical function.bj
