Barber Motorsport Museum - Alabama
10 May 2011 13:21
Hey Everybody:
I visited some friends in Birmingham, Alabama last week, and they took me through the museum. It was fantastic. They have about 1200 motorcycles, with over 600 on display at any time. 1902 through current years. Located in Leeds, Alabama, just NE of Birmingham - I highly recommend seeing this if you are ever in the area. I was riding from Houston, Texas to the "Tail of the Dragon" in Tennessee. That is another place that I highly recommend as well. Here are some photos:

Wireman:
They had many many antique Harleys. I actually like the looks of some of the older ones much better than the newer all-chrome format.
There were also some cool race cars, exotic engines on stands, side-car motorcycles, army vehicles, racing motorcycles, you name it. I was there for almost 2 hours, and was just getting started.
Also, there is a 2.38 mile race track there. You will se events on TV from the place occasionally. Then there is the Skip Barber Porsch Driving School. Neat place.
