the reason im against pinning sidecovers on
25 Apr 2011 02:53 - 25 Apr 2011 08:30
somebody else was talking about pinning side covers on the other day to keep them from blowing off, couldnt find the post so im starting a new one here if i can get the picture to post.
this is the reason i suggest drilling a hole in front corner of cover and safety wiring it around the frame tube, that way if something starts smoking you can get at it a hell of a lot faster than trying to open seat and pull out a bunch of pins to get it off .

Whoa.....!
Had me a little confused when you wrote Valve Cover being pinned.... But then again, have no idea what this owner did where valves might have been relocated... :woohoo:

Ouch!
What do you guys think about circuit protection in the R/R output wire to B+? Maybe stop that from happening? Fuse-able link, circuit breaker, or in-line fuse? That way if it shorts it should blow the fuse or breaker, and lose its source of energy/ heat. Any one else made this mod already?

It's in 3D.
Lucky the whole thing did not go up.
I had a friend in the late 70's, he had a chopper Triumph, he was sitting at a red light with a chick on the back. They were both under a couple of influences!
The gas line and carbs caught fire.
He burnt his legs and crotch pretty bad. Laid up in Hosp. a couple of weeks.
Always double check your work!
