Did you miss the first race of world superbike/superstock? Phillip Island happened at the end of February.

i did miss some of it...but for me it is 3rd to GP and AMA...

good racing..i had it set to tape and missed the taping for some reason

I was supposed to go to the 200 but my friend was still recovering from surgery.tried to watch it on speed but I missed the supebike race and caught only a couple laps of the 600 race before they red flagged it for a tire change.did they do the same for the bigger bikes?

thanx for posting the races. i stayed up late last night for daytona and keeped switching from that race to nhra qualifing. i thought the bmw liter class with 200+ hp were gonna run away with it . but they dident.

Daytona has produced some real surprises over the years. Pure power doesn't always win - the combination of tire wear, fuel economy and handling makes it an interesting race. I remember Jarno Saarinen blitzing the field of 750's on a 350 Yamaha in the 1970's.

It was a sad day when he was killed at Monza.

i am too young to have seen these men race, and am always glad to have the cycle mags cover these folks (Jarno Saarinen) for those who did not know about the glory days at Daytona and the isle ect, amazing talent and story and a special period as the old guard struggled to stay racing as the japanese wave arrived
