Got a question for anyone out there. I have an '81 Kz750E that I have done some changes to. Got rid of the silver paint and painted it black, new lower rise handlebars and grips, and a cafe fairing. What I want to know is will a seat and fairing from and '83 Gpz750 work on my bike? without too much work?

Major work to get the seat to fit.

Weld a mount (3" long 1/4" thick flat plate with two mounting holes) to the center of the steering head, and another mount on each side on the down tubes. Bolt up the fairing mount then bolt on the fairing, If you want to give it a shot I have a fairing (that needs a little work) and fairing mount.

You will probably need a rectangular headlight, and possibly the tail from a GPz to match the profile of the rear of the seat.

Thanks. I used to have an 83 Gpz750 years ago. Loved the bike, but had to sell it. It's hard to find one that is not a basket case. I like my 81 kz 750 but the profile of the seat kills me. I can only ride for about an hour and then it's a pain in the ass, literally. I figured on modofying a Gpz seat to fit the bike or to rework the seat pan itseld for a lower profile above the air box. Which I plan on removing and installing 4 individual air filters directly to the carb flanges.
