mine is at 2.5 years and still going strong

5 years is pretty good. They will last 6 or more with a battery tender jr. ( Usually :P )

I've seen a few go bad in 3 years or less, because of being left in the cold over the winters, unused/no maintenence.

The first one I had lasted one season because I did not have it on a tender over the winter. This was my fault. The second one I have, I bought in may of 2008.

I've gotten 4 years on two of them. On my third and would never buy anything but a maintenance free now

found another battery in my home town. a bit pricey at $86 but i feel its well worth it not having to worry about acid vapors eating away the finish some where

$86 is cheap if you ask me... I paid $105, but its a different size battery in the J bikes. Higher amp hours.
