Adding Length To GS 1100 Suki Swingarm

I know there is another thread somewhere else.
I have a 81 GS 1100 aluminum swingarm on the way.

I want to extend it back 1 1/2 or 2 inchs to fit a 180 tire between it.

Has anyone cut one in half? Simple rectangular inside?

Thanks

Have to do it at the very back, to keep stock width.

id use a gsxr 750 arm,you can get em cheap and weld shock mounts on.
id say its an easier/cheaper route B)
