Anyone tried BugEyes?

I have superbike bars on my bike, so all I see in the mirrors are my shoulders.

I got a set of mirror extenders, which do help, but they make the bike look really wimpy, and the mirrors still aren't great.

I'm either going to go to a wider set of bars with the same (or close to the same) rise and pullback as the superbike bars, then put mirrors with integrated turn signals on them, or I'm going with the BugEyes and eliminate the mirrors altogether.

So far, I haven't been able to find sny bars that fit the criteria. The superbike bars are 29" wide, with a 2.5" rise, a 4.75" pullback, and a center width of 4.5". I figure I'll need at least 32" wide, if not 33" to solve the mirror problem.

The BugEyes were cheap enough that I went ahead and bought them to try. If I don't like them, I'm only out 25 bucks.

Thought about bar end mirrors? Bugeyes seem kinda trick but what about the man? Does your state have and enforce a rearview mirror requirement?

Yeah, I've looked at 'em, but I don't like the way they look, with my luck (and accident-proneness) I'm sure I'd tear them off with alarming regularity, and having ridden a bike with them, I didn't like having to look that far down to see them.

Yeah, I sure am clumsy too. That's a good point. I had been wanting 'em because I dig how they look. Hadn't even thought about that aspect.

Seems like the bug-eyes would introduce turbulence and noise that none of us needs. I have a set of CRG bar-ends on my ZRX and like them just fine.

I had the same problem with my mirrors when I installed my bars. Until I bought a set of these mirrors. They mount in the conventional mounts that you already have and they work fantastic. I was shocked how well they worked.

I'd be curious to know what the measurements are. Do you know what a plumb bob is?

EDIT: Oh, wait, I just saw the measurements in the auction. I'll go measure my mirrors.

Well, this is odd. On that auction, they had a pic with measurements. The critical one to me is the width of the mirror, measuring from the stem to the outside edge of the mirror. On this mirror, that measurement is listed as 8.26"

When I went and measured my standard square mirrors though, that measurement was 9 7/8". Measuring to the edge of the extenders, it's 11 1/2", and I could use more!

Now I'm big (6'5", 280lb), and maybe that's the difference.

This seems to be cool I don't know how it would work but it's a cool concept. I've also seen a few bikes that mount a small backup camera on the rear of the bike with the screen mounted with the guages.
