Price/availability of KZ's in the 70's and 80's
05 Aug 2010 07:03
Back in the late 70's and 80's, were the different KZ models priced very differently or were the availability different? I ask this because I have two LTD's, but think the KZ standards and the GPz's are really cool too, but I can never seem to come across them on craigslist. I was starting to think that maybe they were either not made in as many numbers, raced more than the LTD's, hence not many left, or maybe they were more expensive and not many of them were purchased?
maybe it's just my luck, but I have only seen 1 GPz in person and maybe 5 KZ's. I have seen a TON of LTD's though.

Fundamentally, you have your finger on it...Kawasaki decided, back in the mid-1970's to sell primarily LTD's to the North American's...and mostly to the Americans. So, what you see for sale today, reflects what the market was 30 years ago. LTD models sold in the US far outnumbered the standard models.

Bummer, I really like the KZ's and really like the GPz's even more.
