Z2 750

This bike showed up late. It was built for the Jappeneese market and sounded awsome.

I didn't get to talk to a lot of these owners as sometimes they were not around. Roy

What do you want to know about em? By the looks of it, it's been customized which is what most folks did to them back then. I saw may seats, exhausts, kickstands, fenders get tossed in a dumpster and replaced with the HP aftermarket parts. Back in the day we all rode them hard, not many survived or went unmolested.

Mine remains mostly original with upgrades.

For a GI stationed in Japan in the 70's, it was a poor mans Z1 900. :) .........................markerdown

Nice eye Roy, most folks miss the fact that the bike ain't a 1975 Z1...of course, it is difficult to tell what year the bike is...it does have 1975 Z1A colors on it...which is wrong as the 1975 Z2A only came in the reddish-brown that year.

A friend of mine has a 73 Z2, all original, in need of some cosmetic/mechanical restoration. Build date on the bike is late 72.
The Z2 he has caught my eye due to the gauges, I had seen it dozens of times and figured it was just another Z1 in his collection ( he has KZ900's/1000's, Z1R's, Z650C, 74 Z1 and my old 750B1 ). We were going through some stuff looking for a caliper for my 650SR and I had to move the Z2 to get to the boxes...thats when I asked if the gauges were stock and Donny told me about the Z2's. The side covers werent on the bike, so he grabbed them to show me the 750 badges on them. Not sure when it was imported into Canada ?

Does your friend have the bike listed with the English Z2 site? ( www.freewebs.com/750rs/ ) Nice bikes...I like them (I have a 1975 Z2A). BTW, the bike was never sold/marketed outside of Japan and many Z2s in North America (and maybe elsewhere) are the result of US servicemen buying the bikes while on a Japan tour-of-duty and shipping them back.

I think there is a fellow in the Miami area who is looking to unload a running 1974 Z2A...if you are interested, I can try and dig up his contact info.

I will have to wait, I am financially embarrassed at the moment. Had to buy my daughter a new car last week after her other car got stolen :(

Meh, all said and done, it's a 750 not a 900. I notice it alot on the open road, big difference between my Z2 and KZ. It's a wannabe 900 :)

LOL...just before I acquired my Z2, I spoke with Jeff Saunders about it and he said something similar...and I paraphrase 'riding a Z2 is like riding a Z1 running on three cylinders'

Funny how a decade of advancement changes things....my 750L pulls harder than a Z1 :P a stock Z1 of course, but still  I gotta keep it on the boil to do so, and ya a Z1 still has more roll on in 5th.
