Found a goldmine, and bought my first SUZUKI!!!
27 Feb 2010 17:03
Well, i got a lead from WildWilly, a member on the forum, and the previous owner of the dragbike chassis i own about a dragbike for sale in my area. He told me he wanted $2000 for it and i was ver interested but didnt have 2000 bucks on me, so i resorted in listing my H1 on craigslist. Its very rough and needed alot of work but i know im gona miss it like crazy very soon. The sale got me about halfway to paying for the dragbike. I went to look at it today, and it was in great shape. It hasnt been ran in 10 years and is missing carbs. I think i will still try and buy it this summer but just didnt have teh cash now. Its 1428cc, head done by dave schultz, and everything else u can see in teh pics except the zx11 body.
BUT.... the owner also had another bike that he said i may be interested in... Turns out he has an 84 gs1100e. Supposedly its got larger pistons and bigger cams. It is mostly stock other than that, and ran 11.4 with a 280lb rider, who only ran it that once down the strip. It runs and supposedly just had carbs gone through(seems like everyone says that when u buy a bike) He wanted $1000 for it, and i had teh money and couldnt leave it behind. I pick it up and sign the title next saterday
I know i sold a kawi to buy a suzuki, but i have way too many projects and not a rider. SHould be a fun bike

jordan ...if you get that thing all clean and sort through the weird stuff....you got a great deal...even if it is a stock motor, which i'm sure it won't be from the sound of the seller, they are tractors, and have about the funnest second gear ever made.....you can set em up to handle too ..it takes a bit of work to make em turn caynons imo ...but a lot of guy's were able to throw em around....i think they feel weird(taller and slow to pick up and turn over and throw around) after riding kz's so much but they sure scoot for sure when you go through the gear box....pics when it's clean would be great....nice score bro

ya, the owner has a speed addiction you could say. He said the bike has spent alot of its time on the rear wheel, and was one of the fastest bikes in town in its day. He doesnt race any bikes, but does race a badass superbee at the dragstrip. I think the bike will be alot of fun. I think this bike will be a great bike to learn how to ride on the strip consistently before i jump onto a bigblock kz!!! Anyone know of any of the normal problems of these bikes?

Clean that bad boy up and ride the piss out of it. My brother bought one of those brand new and in the crate. The 16 valve motor will run for sure if the previous owner left any for you to play with. I have the 8 valve GS1100 I ride alot to conserve my KZ's. Check out the GS forum for some info

Zuks rule ! Nevermind that idiot from Arizona. I would love to have a 79 GS1000S.

It's OK brother Ed, let it go...
Jordan knows only having fun (henceforth the laughing faces) and the new guy just didn't get it, obviously went over his head for there's truly nothing wrong with that find...
Plummen and I have have been speaking about the Yamaha TT & XT 400/500... Love those bikes... Most likely will start looking for one for a daily driver...
