9am53,

The only restriction is that I can not ever ride it to work. The $230 was for liability only and the plate. The plate was $30. I put 6000 miles on her last summer, and I've ridden 4 days this month. Not bad for January.

I have a great 85km round trip commute through the country to get to work, so I can't not ride it...bummer.

Here in BC there is no age discrimination. Every one pays thru the nose. If you have a clean record your rates go down. If I took out a normal policy my liability cost would be about $1000. Not being allowed to ride to work is no big deal to me. I need a pickup to transport surveying equipment, rain gear etc.

As for MAC exhausts, time will tell. Like I said I really like the stock setup. Unfortunately, the repro units are out of my price range. So having the stock head pipes with slip-ons is a reasonable alternative. MAC was the one I could find with the flare tips. I'm really happy with the look and sound. If they rot out in a few years...Oh well.

whoa, you folks need to check out Foremost ins, I pay about 80.00 a year for my 73 Z1 and a 77 LTD together. And I hardly ever run under 80 mph no matter what I driving.
As far as the pipes go I'm running a open 3" straight tail pipe with no megaphone style and it only starts to get loud after about 4500 rpm and by then I'm gone.B)

Well- I did a side by side comparison of the MAC pipe and my Yoshi mini pipe and found that the geometry is almost the same. I thought since they were supposedly made by MAC that there would be some similarities. One change that MAC did was to route the pipe to avoid the center-stand. They also used a smaller collector pipe to increase the back-pressure a bit and than they enlarge to the small cannister muffler. I really like the way the MAC performs and looks. I just do not like the way they transition from the collector to the muffler. There's just something about that rounded front of the cannister.

Perhaps the Mac is designed to afford access to oil filter and drain plug.

Might be wrong, but recalling the Yosh did not permit filter changes without removing the headers.

Good Luck! :)

my second generation yosh doesnt allow oil or filter changes either one you must pull it off to do either. so it really is no big deal to do it on a crappy day and give it a splash of paint and polish up the can if it is needed.

For a street pipe the little longer headers are actually better. The longer pipes give a bit better mid range.
