Wow, that is expensive insurance. I pay $149 for my 1981 GPz1150 project bike for the whole year wit State Farm. It is listed on the form as a 1981 KZ1000M (1000 CSR) because that is what the Frame # shows it as. That is all that they want. My 76 900 was only $9 less than that which is 100% stock EXCEPT for the MAC pipe.

Otto, he's in Canada I think...my isurance is over a thousand for the year. Hey galactica, do they care how many kilometers you ride when you have the collector insurance? I would love to save some money but I thought you can only ride so much with it.

WOW I feel bad for you Canucks. That is state sponsored highway robbery. What all comes with that insurance? For a $1000 a year you better get a lot.

Are you kidding me? $1052 gets me liability, they won't give me anything else due to its age. And before you tell me to shop around, I already did, this is BY FAR the best deal I can find. I was with state farm with the KZ550 and they wanted around 800, but they raised the rates, now a 550 with them costs the same as my 1000 costs me with my current company, I can't imagine what they want for a litre bike now.

Hey back to subject matter for a moment...

Can I get some meaurements off you guys with the MAC 4-1 setup?

Would be interesting in comparing the primary measurements & calculations I'm doing in my research for exhaust design tuning...

Thanks,

Just got an online quote for $600.00 for my KZ1000. Still too much as far as I'm concerned since I was paying less than half that 5 years ago.

As for Mac pipes? Why pay to replace a cheap pipe every few years when you can spend more initially and have a pipe that you will never have to replace? My Wiesco (V&H) is over 20 years old and it's still as solid as the day I got it.

I don't know why. I never had to replace my MAC yet. Has anyone here replaced a MAC due to rust threw or burn threw?
I have a Yoshimura that I put on my Z1R in 1979 and it is still on there.

9am53,

The only restriction is that I can not ever ride it to work. The $230 was for liability only and the plate. The plate was $30. I put 6000 miles on her last summer, and I've ridden 4 days this month. Not bad for January.

That sounds promising, I will check it out but am not holding my breath...I am only 28 years old. My dad is with Jevco, and he pays around 500 for his versys, once I turn 30 my insurance will plummet to around 500 as well, once that happens i will get another bike and put it back to the 1000 I am used to paying lol
