it can be papered ..there are ways to get a title after they drop out of dmv...i checked...and also it can be a back burner project for your next summer...or next next summer like mine........hell....we all need somthing to do when we get old...like omr

Now its sinking in. Go get her.
I paid $250 for my Z1, sure it was 27 years ago but I still bought it not knowing they were to be a collectible one day. Back then they were plentiful. I rode her for years and put her away for over 10 years then along came a complete motor for $350.00 on ebay, and it has never been the same since.

well done and i beleive it was a deal at twice that...sure there may sometimes, be few better ones getting dumped for cheap (sometimes)...but that is a z for sure...and now my friend ,it is your z....well done...plus i saw how you polished up the last one and ....this should be at least cleaner in no time....i think you may have scored too...we'll see...that last picture shows a diamond in the rough......good ty.....

No doubt... Engine cylinders seem to be ion good shape, no broken fins that I could see nor did I see oil leakage....
Hell, I saw on e-bay last month a Lochart cooler go for $250 by itself.... How much you want for it? :laugh:
I believe timebomb has some VM 28mm carbs for sale that would be just about right for that old girl....

Thank you all for giving me a reason to get. I needed someone to blame other than me, right?
From # on the motor, it should be Z1-B assuming motor has not been changed. I look on the frame around the steering head, I didn't see any stamped number other than "Made in Japan".
Being Z1-B, I guess there won't be an oil tank. No tools or manual but trays are there. Yes OMR, there is lockart oil cooler. Got some rust on rear fender, fork, spring on shocks etc. Will start to mess with it as get a chance.
