Canada's First 5 Second TF Bike / New Records

Geoff Pollard finally joined the MTC 5 Second club Friday 13th. at the AMA Dragbike World Finals in Valdosta Georgia.

Round 1 qualifying Friday was a 5:963 @ 232.33 and he lowered that on Saturday to 5:932 @ 241.88.Those numbers reset the Canadian records the Pollards held previously with this bike and move Geoff up to 5th. for ET and 4th. for MPH on the world wide list of quickest/fastest 1/4 mile dragbikes.

Even 5 sec in the 1/8 mile is amazing. 5 sec in the 1/4 is rocket power.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Geoff ran 3 X 3.92 1/8th. mile times - 2 at 196 mph. and one at 202 mph.

Edit: just noticed this is my 396th. post on KZRider.That's been my race number since the early 80's when we had to get licenses at NHRA -96th. ET bike in Division 3.Later to be ET MX 396 a number feared by no one. Ok ,back to your regular program.

theres atleast 2 1197s running mid-low 5s at our little hillbilly track,yeah theyre turbos! :laugh:

that is freakin awesome 5.90's it was just a mater of time nice they got it this year instead of waiting for next season and worrying about it all winter. nice job must have been nice to see jack.

1/4 mile baby. AMA did make it 1000ft. at US 131 Martin in July for safety reasons -it's a bit short on the shutoff. I can understand 1/8 and 1/4 but will never figure out 1000ft. Prefer 1/8th. over 1000 ft., so do Geoff & Greg .
