Locozuna,

Thanks for bringing back my memories of flattrack racing! I'm convinced it's the coolest racing on the planet. I remember watching Springer, Gary Nixon, et al sliding through the turns; and the THUNDER of those engines! That's racing! (I actually bought one of Nixon's race motors and ran it on the street - yikes!) I gotta find out where & when they race anymore. I used to go to Harrington, DE, but I haven't been in 20 + years. Ed

Love the dirt. I watched Terry Poovey many times race. Springer....Carr....you name it. Last mile I was at was Springfield. Nicky Hayden rode one of Terry's other RS750's. That was some great fun. Of course.....being in Daytona at the short track during bikeweek is awesome. Nothing like a cool Florida night and racing in dirt. Right now were restoring Terry's old race van. Decades of memories within it. Ricky G was part of it too. Boy could he ever ride. It just never ends........

i raced a bit up here amatuer stuff and in 2005 i raced in one of the arhma vintage dirt events on the short track in sturgis that was awesome and i didn't come in last which i thought was pretty good for an old fat guy that was until i watched the real guy's race the 600 hot shoe series they were hard on it from the second the gate openned for hot laps unreal fast. it is without a doubt the purest most exciting form of motorcycle racing i love drag racing but i think if i could have lived down south around some of these tracks my life would have been different if i hadn't raced them i definitly would have been building these cool bikes. some of the best most amazing riders i have ever seen do this sport and i would have loved to been involved. to late now.
