Hi folks,

I'm looking at two KZ's as a package. One has 25Km and the other 52km.

What should I be expecting to have to do? Both bikes run.

depends alot on how they have been maintained and how they have been ridden. the number one thing i always do with a fresh bike is change the oil and filter then i do a valve adjustment and then do a carb sync. adjust and lube the cables and chain and look at the condition of brakes and sprockets also i will change out the brake fluid basically i do a major tune-up when i get a new bike. i take it for granted that the guy your buying it from has not done a lot of maintenence in awhile has he does not want to put money into something he is getting rid of anyway.

Remember, sometimes on these older Kawasaki's it is not the mileage on the bikes that is problem and causes wear-and-tear, it is literally the age of the bike. All those internal rubber bits start to deteriorate as do the gaskets, etc.

Well I wasn't really planning on riding it this summer anyways. I was going to go over it and change fluids, check valve etc as you suggest. What rubber bits should I be attending tospecfically due to age?

the cam chain idler gears and the cam chain slider in the block over time they can harden and start to come apart.
