Speeding Tickets of 09
14 Mar 2009 11:36
Well, out riding around town heading home on the freeway. Followed the ebb and flow of traffic - and when the last car in front of me took to the right at a junction i moved over in the righthand lane and coasted along at the 80 km/h speedlimit .. a kilometer later the bright HID lights behind me added two strobes of blue and my ride came to an end .
Because of the noise my kz 650 makes he had decided to target me and not the other cars.
My reward was a 800 dollar ticket for going 98 km/h in a 80 zone ...
(i'm just happy it didnt happen on my ride at the same spot the day before as i did twice the limit that day
)

$800 ticket!?!?!?!? Holy WOW! Around here the max ticket for just speeding isn't even half that. Hell, that's more coin than I spent on either of my bikes when I bought them!

hell do you guy's ever get burned i'd have to pass a school bus that was stopped picking up kids twice to get that kind of ticket the cops usally won't even look at you around here if you doing 20 klicks or under more than the limit i'd be fighting that one who knows the jackass might not show up for court. and then you walk.

Here in Finland we have no limit to ticket. It´s all about your income. 2 weeks ago a finnish businessman did 82 on 60kmh limit zone and guess what he got, yeap, a ticket for

Maybe it's my age, but these days I tend to try to limit it to a max of 5mph over the limit - which seems pretty safe from a ticket stand point.

I got one last year on my bike. I passed a rubbernecker that kept slowing down and speeding up, and slowing down...
Just rolled the throttle back for just a few seconds, right into a state troopers lazer beam. I let go of the juice right when I saw him coming at me. Too late.
Dammit.
He said he clocked me doing 87mph.
That can't be right though, cause my speedometer only goes to 85mph.

Wasnt there a F1 driver that got a ticket over there a few years and got a huge fine? I cant remember how much it was but they talked about during the race on the speed channel.

our main highway that runs tight to the ocean is badly overloaded at to and from work times and folks really move along...65 mph is the legal limit but most luxury sedans just whip past so they gotta be doning 85....usually the motor cops hide with a radar gun and pick folks off during the mid day and leave the rush hours alone...cuase it is so close to a mad pile up,i doubt they wanna stand next to the flow or get someone drifting over to clip em....folks know the cops are not around during rush hour and flat out fly....there are not many roads around here and you can pretty well memorize the hiding spots...it is almost a fair game.....be an idiot in the bad spots and get the prize...
our roads were not designed with the number of cars using them in mind.....so they hide on side roads for easier pickings....

Traffic court no longer carries a pretense of "safety", it's a revenue generation juggernaut as government scrambles for more and more cash to give to more and more people who don't need it.

Told the cop I was dyslexic.
He just kept on writing.
