Just an upgrade for better braking, rotors that would fit KZ wheels and calipers that fit the kz forks.
If you were going to build, design or engineer a motorcycle part, what would it be and why?

Re: Build a part....

I have made several parts so far, but I would like to redo a few of them with something a bit more precise. If I had the time and money I would love to find a way to make a hydraulic clutch adapter for the stock cover. I had to weld mine up and that has led to a few odd problems that a good machined part would not have. Mainly alignment and such of all of the stock holes. My locater dowel was missaligned due to the cover warping with some of the support webs being removed and the welding on a new cover.
So I will throw a smaller slave cylinder in there as well for what I would like to build. Something smaller with more travel than what I currently have.

Now that would be some cool stuff! Small light weight valves at just the right angle. Would you use shims or rocker arms?

Still recovering, some days are better than others.

It would be nice if someone would make some of the parts that were never offered separately by Ma Kaw. An example is the little fiber ring that goes on the fork cylinder. Mine were in great shape when I replaced the fork seals, but I can't believe that some don't need to be replaced.

An adapter plate or even whole hub that would accomodate modern front rotors and still run spokes. That would be perfect.
Does anyone know of a place I can find this now?

Check out my 1000. I was able to place a Zx7 slave inside my stock cover without welding and without too much grinding to the webs. It's not the prettiest but it works well and you can't tell it has hydraulic clutch except for the M/C on the handle bars.
I've designed some parts for my 900. I haven't gotten around to machining the parts but I have 95% of the material needed.
I'm designing my own outboard bearing support with provisions for a hydraulic clutch. It'll also cover up more than the DG or Kosman supports do. I hate the big gaps and the fact the bottom of the starter motor is always hanging out.
I've also designed my own swingarm extensions. I did this for a couple reasons. 1) I can pick up the material and machine it with the help of some buddies for about 25% what some companies charge to do it for you. 2) I can design it to my specs i.e. axle size, caliper hanger, chain adjustment methods, etc. 3) I can say I designed and made it myself if someone asks.
