I'm unimpressed. If I must use a 240v outlet (like an electric clothes dryer) for 2 hours to charge the batteries for every 150 miles I ride I can only venture 75 miles from home so I can make the trip back (and this is assuming I'm not running this thing in a spirited fashion). If I'm lucky enough to find someone 150 miles from home who will let me use their 120v outlet, I have to sit there for 8 hours waiting for it to charge. Can you imagine how popular motorcycles would be if it took 8 hours to fill the gas tank every 150 miles? This company, like so many who tout electric vehicles as being green, fails to discuss the pollutants associated with the source of the power (nuclear, coal, oil?) and the inherent inefficiencies (loss of energy) as the energy is exchanged from the original source to electricity, traverses the power grid, is exchanged to storage batteries, and is finally exchanged back to elecricity to run the motor. Then, of course, there's the nightly blackout if everyone drove electric vehicles and plugged them in when they got home from work along with turning on their A/C, PC, TV, lights, etc. Plus, what happens to all those old batteries? Landfill? I don't think so.

On the other hand, you could ride all the way around from Bremerton to Seattle, do a full day's work and commute back home without paying fuel costs. Boston to New York? If you're stealing your power, how long before it's worth it?
Besides, I frequently have specialized items. The bicycle I use on a daily basis is not the bicycle I tour with. I take my tabletPC everywhere but my work laptops are conventional keyboarded machines. The bike I'd tour with wouldn't be the same vehicle I commute with. Realistically, I don't think I'd want to commute more than 150 miles, anyway!
I'm still not going to buy one, though. I just don't like the way it looks.

Ed, I'd just like to say thank you for shining the light of fact onto this whole electric vehicle debate. You've completely nailed it, but.....the tree huggers don't want to hear about facts like the ones you've stated.
I notice that they have now modified their ads about ZERO POLLUTION with an asterisk.....and at the bottom of the page in tiny 4 point type it says *=zero LOCAL pollution.
Talk about an "Inconvenient Truth"!!!!
And you can pretty much substitute the word "methanol" for "electricity" into the last half of your post and see what facts work against THAT "green" fuel, as well.
When the green bandwagon starts rolling, the tree huggers and the starry-eyed media folks don't want to discuss efficiency in any form. They just want a nice warm fuzzy feeling obtained from doing SOMETHING......ANYTHING.....
and then telling the world what great people they are for "saving the planet".
The whole thing makes me want to barf.

End of rant...for now....

How does it sound with a Kerker on it!
Oh, that's right....
Maybe they synthesize the sound for sounding like a finely tuned kicking & grumbling Kerker.... hahahahahhaha....
Now thanks, not for me....
