I bought a Versys - VIDEO
21 Mar 2008 21:04 - 26 Mar 2008 08:03
It's the summer bike for touring and such. I'm still going to use the KZ for commuting the other 9 months.
I'd miss the sound of the Kerker. The Versys is a twin, and a very silent one at that. Often mistaken for a Beemer, the Versys turns heads everywhere I go - people have just never seen one before!

Congrats!
There's a bit of a write up in the mag I just bought, Motor Cyclist. Haven't read it yet though.
Give us your opinion when you've been able to give her a good testing.

I really, really, like that bike. I sat on it and rolled it around at the Motorcycle Show that rolled through town...
I want to get a used one (in a couple years), tear off the fairing, and put a round headlight on it. Maybe some *slightly* lower bars. Then I think it would be perfect.

The more I see it, the more it grows on me. I don't know if one will turn up used around here in a year or two or if Kawasaki will keep it in the line up for a number of years so that parts will be plentiful. I hope so.
Congrats and give us a real long term test report.

The format of that bike started in Europe (naturally!) in the form of an un-faired 650 Ninja, they called in the eR6N. A totally cool looking bike with a single head-light and radiator/body shrouds that make the thing look like a mini-BKing...only cool. I love the way that thing looks, and then Kawasaki sends this dorky fairing version to America...
Still, the bike is cool enough that we (wife and I) almost traded both the Hawks for one this winter; it had a PC, BMC filter, a full Arrow system, 2200 miles. As it would be the wife's bike, she only "liked" it...'nuff said. Now the un-faired version, I'm sure she would "love"!

Besutiful bike.
I think I'm going to have to try one. Wonder if my short legs would reach the ground
Enjoy !

I love those bikes. If I had the money I might be tempted. The problem is that new bike, all of them I've been around, just seem soooo big. The versy is a 650 but it just seems much larger to me

I'd buy one today if I had the means. I straddled one at the dealer's and really liked it as far as that goes. Looks like it would be perfect for running around town and for short trips. I really liked the set up. I'm 6'2" and it seemed just right. Let us know more about it after you've had a chance to see what it will do for you.
